St Mark and the Lion

For Mark Lewin’s reception into the Church I made this cake with his patron saint on it: St Mark the Evangelist accompanied by the Winged Lion of St Mark. The books round the base are the ones Mark read on his “book journey” to the faith. The words round the figures read: “Eratis sicut oves errantes sed conversi estis nunc ad Pastorem”, a quotation from the Epistle of the day of his reception which translates as: “You were as sheep going astray but now you are converted to the Shepherd” (2 Peter 21-25) Co-incidentally it was also Mark’s birthday on the day of his baptism, so there is a Many Happy Returns of the Day message in Latin on the cake board. Congratulations, Mark!

Bride and Groom at Glastonbury

For Zac and Kim's wedding I made this Glastonbury cake along with a stack of cupcakes. I used edible photo transfers for some of them, made by Jane Asher Party Cakes.
